I'm Danielle ... and I'm here on Medium to practice my writing skills, get to know some other interesting people, and inspire others to be positive, live a great life, and become their own boss by becoming a creator!

Here are a few things about me :

I'm a Chemical Engineer ...

For most of life I've worked as an engineer in the oilfield business. I got my degree from Adelaide University and started work at age 21 with a large American oilfield services company.

My 23 years with this company were a great adventure that took me to Dallas, Texas for 12 years and then back to Australia in 2012.

Over my career I enjoyed roles in sales, business development, engineering design, training, and operations. I spent a year working on offshore oil rigs in Australia and I travelled to Malaysia, Norway, Angola, China, and many of the US states.

I'm a Pet Lover and Wanna-be Farmer ...

My love of animals inspired me to start and run a pet sitting business in Dallas for 10 years. This entrepreneurial passion grew as I learnt more about marketing and online business and I branched out with a partner to launch an online Association for pet sitters and write my first book "How to Create Excellence in Your Pet Sitting Business".

These days we live on a 6 acre little farm in the Perth hills and have 4 sheep. Soon we will get our own chickens and perhaps a couple of geese.

I enjoy growing my own vegetables and we are revegetating the property with over 70 trees planted in the last 2 years.

I'm a Serial Learner and Teacher..

I have written a few blogs in the past (about pet sitting mostly) and studied many courses about online marketing and content writing.

I'm currently a student and consultant with the Digital Marketing School through which I help business owners to run Facebook ads and bring in leads so they can grow their business and have more freedom.

I love to learn new things ... and I also love to teach others. During my career I was a technical trainer for 3 years and I got so much fulfillment from seing others learn and succeed. I also enjoyed class development and would like to pursue instructional design as part of my journey as a writer.

I'm an Entrepreneur and Marketer at heart ...

Life keeps bringing me back to being a business owner!

I met my husband 5 years ago and he also enjoys working for himself. I've helped him market and run one of his businesses for the past 4 years.

I left my engineering job in September last year and have dabbled in a few different pursuits. I love my freedom and enjoy not being pinned down to a 9-5 office job.
